BUSHNELL TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM)—Michigan State Police are trying to determine what caused a 17-year-old driver to veer into oncoming traffic, leading to a serious crash in Montcalm County.
The crash happened around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday on M-57 east of Town Hall Road. Witnesses tell troopers a vehicle traveling west on M-57 crossed the center line and hit an eastbound vehicle.
The passenger in the eastbound vehicle was airlifted to a nearby hospital. The 17-year-old driver was also taken to the hospital. The driver of the eastbound vehicle, a 54-year-old woman from the Greenville area, was also taken to a nearby hospital with injuries.
Troopers believe alcohol and speed did not play roles in the crash. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to call MSP at (989) 352-8444.
