SIDNEY TWP., Mich. (WZZM) - An Edmore man is charged with a felony after allegedly threatening another driver with a pellet gun and transporting marijuana in his vehicle.
Lawrence Talbot Allen, 46 was formally charged Monday with felonious assault with a dangerous weapon. The Montcalm County Sheriff's Department says additional charges may be pending.
The incident happened Sunday afternoon about 5:30 p.m. Montcalm County deputies responded to a reported road rage incident on Stanton Road, near Grow Road. A Stanton couple reported that they were driving east on Stanton Road and were being tailgated by another vehicle. They pulled over to let the other vehicle pass, but the Edmore man also stopped and got out of his vehicle with a tire iron. The couple drove off but Allen allegedly followed and passed them. He then pulled over and when the Stanton couple passed, he reportedly pointed a long gun in their direction.
Deputies found Allen in Stanton and stopped him. They found a pellet gun and marijuana in his vehicle.
No one was hurt.
A judge set Allen's bond at $2,000 cash or surety.
