Students at Grattan Academy got a first hand experience with a lightning strike during Monday's storms.
GREENVILLE, Mich. (WZZM) -- Students of Grattan Academy have been through plenty of thunderstorms in their lifetime. Monday's storms turned out to be a bit more unique.
The afternoon proved to be exciting when one storm passed overhead and struck the school. Many students inside the building felt a shock.
Principal Tom Kreiner took the opportunity to remind students that even though a storm may not be severe, it can still be dangerous and even deadly.
WZZM 13 Meteorologist Alana Nehring stopped by the school Tuesday afternoon to ask about their experience and discuss what steps to take when caught in a storm. See the video to learn about her visit.
