CALHOUN COUNTY, Mich. (WZZM) -- Firefighters had to evacuate a home early Tuesday morning while putting out a fire.

It broke out just after 3:30 at a home near the corner of Meachem and Collier Roads. That location is just north of Battle Creek, near the Calhoun-Barry County line.

When firefighters arrived on the scene they say the home was fully engulfed in flames. They began to fight the fire on the inside of the building, but retreated when part of the home collapsed.
