GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - Davenport University is offering an incentive to students with an interest in accounting.
The school announced Wednesday morning an Employment Guarantee for all accounting students. If you can't find a job in accounting within six months of graduation, you can get more education at Davenport.
At a morning news conference, Davenport President Dr. Richard Pappas said: "Accountablity is more than words - it's a backing up of what we believe are our excellent programs at Davenport University."
To be eligible, students must maintain a 3.0 GPA in their major and overall, complete an internship and other experiential learning components, be eligible for legal employment in the U.S., and conduct a thorough, documented job search. Qualified graduates unable to find employment may receive up to three additional semesters – up to 48 credits total – of instruction tuition-free, with students responsible for fees and books. The additional courses, worth up to $30,000, should help most students obtain a second major.
