ZEELAND, Mich. (WZZM) -- Zeeland plans to ring in the holiday season with its first ever city Christmas tree.

Zeeland has contracted with the Dutchman Tree Farm in Manton, Michigan, to bring a 20-foot blue spruce -- complete with ultra-bright LED lights -- to the northwest corner of Main and Church streets. The tree will be erected at 1 p.m. on November 19, and will stay up until January 4.

The tree lighting ceremony will at 6:15 p.m. on November 26, immediately before the city's Magical Christmas Parade. Mayor Kevin Klynstra will light the tree, with music provided by the Tarnish Brass Band.
