GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (WZZM) -- He lashed out at the judge and detectives, before being sent to prison for life. Ryan Wyngarden, the man convicted of murdering his sister and brother in-law was given two life sentences in an Ottawa County courtroom on Monday.

With time ticking away on his freedom, Ryan Wyngarden spent more than an hour blaming just about everyone involved in his double-murder case. First, he accused detectives of coercing his wife, the key witness, who testified against him.

"They mentally raped my wife into this," Wyngarden told the courtroom.

Then, he even called the judge 'unjust' and a liar.

"You're lying now, you are flat out lying," Wyngarden said to the judge.

Judge Jon Hulsing threatened to duct tape Wyngarden's mouth shut, if he didn't keep quiet. All the while, Wyngarden denied he murdered his sister and brother in law, Gail and Rick Brink at their home in 1987.

"There's a good chance if they'd caught the person I might of, I'm not going to say it, I would have killed the person that killed my sister," says Wyngarden.

At times, Wyngarden appealed to God for mercy.

"I didn't kill my sister and you know it," Wyngarden said as he looked at the ceiling.

Earlier in court, Rick's brother, Bud Brink, made a different religious reference, as he quoted a local pastor.

"This is not the word of the Lord this is the work of the Devil," says Bud Brink.

Judge Hulsing pointed out there would be no joy in this case, but he hoped to bring justice, as he handed out two life sentences to Wyngarden, without parole.

"This was a brutal homicide, you are brutal cold-blooded murderer," Judge Hulsing said to Wyngarden.

A family that waited for more than 25 years, now has an answer.

"All the prospects of Ryan controlling others will now be gone, justice has been done," says Brink.

Even the convicted double murderer eventually ran out of words.

"I guess i'm done," Wyngarden said to the court.

Wyngarden was immediately removed from the courtroom after his sentencing. He will have a chance to appeal.
