HOLLAND, Mich. (WZZM) -- Two people are charged in connection with the murder of a Park Township man who was found beaten and frozen next to his running vehicle.

Jose Hernandez' body was found January 6 near the Amberwood Apartments on 152nd Avenue in Park Township. Detectives believe Hernandez. 38, was ambushed and clubbed to death as he was leaving for his third shift manufacturing job. He body was found nearly 24 hours later.

Hernandez' ex-girlfriend, Maryann Castorena and Hernandez' roommate, Anthony Alfredo Delagarza, 19, are charged with
open murder and conspiracy to committ murder. Investigators believe the two planned to collect Hernandez' life insurance policy.

Investigators believe the murder was pre-meditated and "significant pre-planning (was) involved."

Castorena and Delagarza were arrested earlier this year for lying to police during the murder investigation.
