Another building falls victim to the buildup of this winter's snow, after a Lowell family's garage collapsed early Wednesday morning.
LOWELL, Mich. (WZZM) -- Firefighters say a family's garage is a total loss after snow caused the roof to collapse.
It happened around 12:15 a.m. Wednesday at a home on Sconcewood Drive SE, between Fulton and Foreman streets in Lowell.
Crews say the heavy weight of of the snow on the roof of the attached garage brought it down, and also damaged a car inside. The rest of the home was not damaged.
One person was home at the time of the collapse. That person was not injured.
Consumers Energy also responded to the scene to repair power lines to the garage.
