GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - Sanford-Brown College is no longer accepting applications at its Grand Rapids campus and the for-profit college will shut down when all of its current students have graduated.

Sanford Brown representative Mark Spencer tells WZZM 13, the Grand Rapids campus has started a gradual process to discontinue operations that he describes as a "teach-out."

The campus at 4020 Sparks Drive SE should be fully closed by February 2014 after all its current students have graduated.

Spencer says the decision was made after taking into account "enrollment levels at the campus, financial viability, community need and employment opportunities for graduates within the local market."
