GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- Michigan State Police and other local police agencies are teaming up with the Rapid to promote a new spring drunk driving crackdown. Troopers and leaders from the Rapid announced a campaign Thursday morning at Central Station.
Buses in the Grand Rapids area will feature signs encouraging people to catch a sober ride. Troopers say with St. Patrick's Day, the NCAA basketball tournaments, and spring break, the numbers of crashes involving alcohol goes up in March and early April.
State police will have extra patrols on the roads in 26 counties across the state until April 7th.
