GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- The murder trial of DeShawn Threats, the man accused of killing his two-year-old daughter, continued Wednesday.
The defense asked the judge to keep autopsy photos of Zaeyana Driggs from being shown to the jury. Judge Johnston agreed with the argument that other injuries shown in the pictures would be prejudicial to the jury.
Kent County Medical Examiner Dr. Stephen Cohle spent most of the morning on the stand describing Zaeyana's injuries.
Zaeyana Driggs, 2, was found dead in a northeast Grand Rapids house in August 2013. An autopsy showed she sustained blunt force trauma to the abdomen. Police say Threats struck the fatal blow.
Threats has a prior history of domestic violence and other crimes; in addition to murder, he's charged with being a habitual offender.
The murder trial is expected to last through the end of the week.
