MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. (WZZM) -- Early next week, parents with students in the Muskegon Heights Public School Academy should know what company or companies will be running the district when students return this fall.
The charter school board will meet to review applications and likely vote on recommendations from a panel already reviewing and interviewing companies interested in running the district.
The state emergency manager assigned to the district says school leaders, attorneys, and representatives from the state Department of Treasury have been meeting daily. Work choosing the next charter school operator continued Thursday.
The school board meeting is schedule for 6 p.m. Monday, June 16, at the performing arts center.
The next charter operator will likely be what is being called a hybrid operator, involving multiple companies working together to run the district.
