WALKER, Mich. (WZZM) -- A tricky intersection in Walker is scheduled to receive a roundabout. The Michigan Department of Transportation will build a roundabout at Wilson Avenue and Remembrance Road NW next year to improve traffic flow.
The public had a chance to review the plan Monday at an MDOT informational meeting at Walker City Hall.
The state says roundabouts are proven to reduce speed, congestion, and accidents, but people who live nearby think a light with a left turn light would be more effective.
"I still don't think an 18 wheeler to get around that circle with two lanes and head down to 3 mile Road to 96 out to Muskegon."
Construction on the roundabout is scheduled in 2015.
