AETNA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) -- If upcoming travels take you to northbound US-131 in Mecosta County, you may notice a major slowdown.
MDOT is planning to demolish the bridge over 3 Mile Rd. and slide the replacement bridge into place.
A suggested detour has northbound traffic exiting US-131 at Jefferson Road and heading east to Northland Drive, north to 8 Mile Rd., and back west to US-131. MDOT points out that Northland Drive is closed between Pierson and Howard City, so drivers who need a detour but want to exit 131 before Jefferson Rd. should plan to use the M-46 exit, which is north of that Northland Drive closure.
US-131 will be closed from 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon until 9 o'clock the following Thursday night. The bridge slide is planned for Sunday.
