Comstock Park will have a newly renovated football stadium by their first game just a couple weeks away.

Additions to the stadium include box seating for VIP's, a new scoreboard, and updates to the press box.

Varsity coach Mark Chapman expects home games to be packed this year.

"It's a huge deal... not only for our kids and our coaches but our community is fired up, too. Our community has gotten behind us and it's been great the past few years."

Chapman also has high expectations for his team this season.

The Panthers have been defeated in the semi-final round of playoffs the last three years in a row, even though they've only lost a total of six games.

Now, with a young team taking the field, Chapman is optimistic.

"Those guys know how to practice. They know how to go through the off-season. I think that will translate to success on the field."

Comstock Park kicks off against Cedar Springs on August 28th at Panther Stadium.
