PITTSBURGH, Penn. (WZZM) – The Detroit Tigers continued with their losing streak Tuesday, trailing the Pirates 4-2.

Rookie Robbie Ray started in place of injured Anibal Sanchez. It was his second stint with the Tigers this year.

Ray allowed four runs in five-plus innings, but it wasn't all his fault. Detroit's defense was shaky.

The Tigers have now lost six of their past seven games. They'll have a chance for payback Wednesday, as the Pirates travel to Detroit.

Right-hander Buck Farmer will make his major league debut Wednesday in Detroit.

And as for Justin Verlander, his MRI results show no structural damage to his right shoulder.
