GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - Students at Burton Elementary are celebrating with apples Thursday, before they receive new iPad Air 2 devices.
The new technology is available as part of a grant offered from Apple.
The school was notified in 2014 it was a grant winner, and Apple began dolling out the tech to schools in 2015. Burton got 27 MacBook Air and iPad Mini 4 devices for teachers, seven iPad Mini 4 for support staff, 32 Apple TVs and 31 projectors for classrooms and over 540 iPad Air 2 devices for the students' use.
In total, the ConnectED grant from Apple is worth $1,000,000.
The tech delivery was in March.
Teachers and staff at the school got their devices first and worked with Apple to go through professional learning and teaching activities to help them in turn teach the students using the devices.
