Police: Driver in hit-and-run crash 'may have been drinking'

Georgetown Twp. hit and run

GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP, MICH. - A 23-year-old Hudsonville man is in stable condition after a hit and run crash in Georgetown Township Friday night.

Police say the crash happened overnight at Baldwin and Main streets. The 23-year-old and his passenger -- a 22-year-old from Grand Rapids -- were sitting at a red light when someone rear-ended them.

The suspect driver then took off from the crash, but police were able to catch up with him not long after. He was taken into custody, police say they think the suspect driver may have been drinking.
