CRYSTAL TOWNSHIP, MICH. - A Crystal Township intersection is closed to traffic after fatal two-car crash on Wednesday morning.
Michigan State Police troopers responded to a call on an accident that happened at the intersection of Sidney Road and Mt. Hope Road around 10:20 a.m.
Lakeview MSP troopers say that a Ford Ranger, driven by a 67-year-old male from Sumner was traveling east on Sidney Road. When he crossed through the intersection, he was hit by a southbound Chrysler mini-van, driven by a 74-year-old Riverdale woman.
There was one passenger in the Ford Ranger, a 61-year-old woman from Sumner -- she was killed in the crash.
The driver of the mini-van and her passenger were transported to Carson City Hospital to treat injuries. The driver of the Ford Ranger was also injured and taken to the hospital.
The Daily News reports that the intersection was closed down after the crash. Commuters are advised to seek alternate routes.
MSP says that the cause of the crash is still under investigation and that alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
