GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - Wednesday likely will be a day to be weather aware as we're watching the possibility of two rounds of severe thunderstorms pushing their way through West Michigan.
Forecast models show the first round might begin around 4 a.m. Wednesday, July 12, with showers and thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall. This comes before a large thunderstorm complex moves in from Wisconsin around 7 a.m. along the Lakeshore and moves into southeast Lower Michigan by noon.
Strong, damaging winds are possible as that rapidly races through.
The second round of storms -- if the atmosphere can recover by the end of the day -- might occur as storms re-develop in Wisconsin during the late afternoon, eventually moving into West Michigan by 9 p.m. and ending after 2 a.m. Thursday.
Strong, damaging winds and an isolated tornado is possible with the second round.
