GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - A cool front will sweep across West Michigan late Wednesday, June 14, providing some much-needed rainfall for the region.
However, that same front will also be the focus for thunderstorms, a few of which could turn severe.
The main threats will be from very heavy rainfall and frequent lightning. A few of the strongest storms could also contain large hail and damaging wind gusts.
The timeframe we are most concerned with is late Wednesday afternoon into the early evening hours.
The storm will also provide some beneficial rainfall. Since June 1, Grand Rapids only has received 0.24 inches of rain -- normal is 1.8 inches at this point.
