Go slow: Winter weather advisory posted for slick Monday travel

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - The winter feel has settled into West Michigan and next comes accumulating snow showers.

A low pressure system over the Great Plains will move into the Great Lakes region late Sunday, March 12. West Michigan will wake up to light to moderate snow showers. As snow continues to fall through the day, snow accumulations will grow.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for all of West Michigan, beginning at midnight and lasting until 8 a.m. Tuesday.

Accumulations will be at 3 inches or more by Tuesday morning for most of West Michigan.

Roadways will be snow-covered and slick during both the morning and evening commutes on Monday. Temperatures remain unseasonably cold most of the work week.
