At 127 PM EST, emergency management reported that the ice jam behind Rogers Dam on the Muskegon River near 11 Mile Road remains in place. No new flooding has been reported in the last 24 hours. Flooding may develop between Big Rapids and the Rogers Dam Pond over the next few days as colder weather continues and the ice jam remains in place. Some of the streets that could be affected by high water and minor flooding are 183rd Avenue near 12 Mile Road, Riverside Drive, and Maple Street. Homes at the lowest spots along the river should pay close attention tonight into Monday as the colder temperatures will further strengthen the ice jam. River levels near ice jams are very unpredictable, and can change quickly with little or no warning. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Water levels around ice jams are notoriously unpredictable, and can change quickly with little or no warning.
