Jennifer Pascua is one of the hosts of My West Michigan at 13 ON YOUR SIDE in Grand Rapids, Mich.
You can find Jennifer doing a wide variety of lifestyle feature stories -- from the daring (like learning how to swim in her 40s) to the delicious (sampling cuisine at local restaurants) to the unexpected (like interviewing musicians/celebrities and politicians).
A Northern Illinois native, she has called Grand Rapids home since 2005 when she was first hired to be the Morning Reporter. She helped to launch the Weekend Morning News on 13 ON YOUR SIDE and has played numerous roles on various newscasts.
Other stops her 24 years in broadcasting include KWQC-TV & KLJB-TV in Davenport, IA, WQAD-TV, in Moline, IL, WREX-TV and WNIJ in DeKalb, IL. She is a Northern Illinois University graduate and is in the process of obtaining her masters degree from Grand Valley State University. She is fluent in Ilocano, the third most-spoken native language of the Philippines.
She is a firm believer that in order to tell stories that matter most you have to become involved with the community on both a professional and personal level. Jennifer is a Certified Tourism Ambassador for Grand Rapids. She is also a graduate of the Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce - Center of Community Leadership's Leadership Grand Rapids & Advantage program, Huntington Bank "Rising Women Leaders" program, and Mercy Health Saint Mary's UpNext Leadership.
Jennifer serves on the Grand Rapids Community Foundation Advisory Council, YWCA Missions Committee, and the Ronald McDonald House of Western Michigan Board. She's a professional member of the Asian American Journalism Association and Society of Professional Journalists.
She has been a Brilliance Awards finalist by West Michigan Woman, YWCA Tribute Awards Women of Achievement, 2012 ATHENA Young Professional Finalist, and recipient of the Grand Valley State University's Amazing Asian Award. Additionally she has played community advocacy roles for a number of organizations such as Michigan Filipino Association, ACT of West Michigan, Catholic Charities West Michigan and CASA of Kent County.
She is passionate about encouraging diversity and raising awareness and action to end homelessness and hunger in our community. She's a support of the efforts of the YWCA in its fight against domestic violence. You can find Jennifer volunteering at Kids Food Basket and Gilda's Club of Grand Rapids and she regularly donates to Children with Hairloss.
She's the mom to three young men: Devin, Drake & Payton and a Grand Rapids Westsider who enjoys traveling, dancing and eating during her off-time.
