One Good Thing: Bookin' Newaygo County

The program gets kids hunting for books which they can read, and then re-hide for others to find.

Today's One Good Thing is a really fun, really unique way to both get kids outdoors and get them to read!

It's called Bookin' Newaygo County. Here's the concept: about 100 books are placed throughout the county. They're also put in Ziplock baggies, so they're weather resistant. You find the book. Read the book. Then put in another location for someone else to find.

Or, you can keep that book if you like it, and share another one. They have a Facebook page where any and everyone can go to get more information and connect with one another. Most importantly, have fun and read.

Big thanks, by the way, to Newaygo County's Family Information Service Hubs, Great Start and NC RESA for providing the books to start up. The Bookin Newaygo County program gets today's One Good Thing.
