CMU shooting suspect moved from hospital to jail

James Eric Davis Jr. has been released from a Mt. Pleasant hospital and transferred to the Isabella County Jail

The Central Michigan University student accused of shooting and killing his parents is out of the hospital and is now in the Isabella County Jail.

Central Michigan University Police say James Eric Davis Jr. killed his parents inside his dorm room early Friday morning. He eluded police for 15 hours and police say Davis was suffering from hypothermia when he was arrested.

Davis spent nearly five days at McLaren Central Michigan hospital after his arrest early Saturday morning. He was transferred from the hospital to the jail on Wednesday, March 7.

On Tuesday Davis was arraigned from his hospital bed, on two counts of open murder and one charge of felony firearm. Davis remains in jail on a 1.125 million dollar bond.
