Salvation Army & Red Cross provide kits for flood victims

Flood kits and tools will be handed out at the Lakewood Fire Station in Kalamazoo Township from noon to 6 p.m.

The late February flooding has been particularly devastating for people in some southwest Michigan communities, so the Salvation Army and Red Cross are stepping in.

Crews from both organizations will be handing out flood kits and tools to victims affected in Kalamazoo County.

The giveaway runs from noon to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 28 at the Lakewood Fire Station, located at 3100 E. Lake Street in Kalamazoo Township.

Victims affected by flooding can also call 211 to be put on the list for help.
