Northbound US-131 closing at 28th Street for the weekend

MDOT will close the north and southbound lanes of US-131 for one weekend in March as they complete a $300,000 project to improve the bridge over Plaster Creek between 28th Street and Burton Street.

Northbound US-131 at 28th Street will be closed from Friday night, March 9 until Monday morning, March 12 according to the Michigan Department of Transportation.

The northbound lanes will close at 9 p.m.Friday while MDOT crews work on the bridge over Plaster Creek, it is scheduled to reopen Monday morning at 5 a.m.

The suggested detour is westbound M-6 to eastbound I-196 to US-131 north. The ramp from 28th Street to northbound US-131 will be closed during construction.

The southbound lanes of US-131 is scheduled to close at Burton Street from March 23-26. MDOT is spending $300,000 to improve the bridge over Plaster Creek between 28th Street and Burton Street.
