Alana Holland is excited to be back in West Michigan! She came to 13 ON YOUR SIDE in January, 2020 as a reporter. She believes in the power of storytelling, and uncovering the truth with journalism.

She's a Michigander for most of her life, growing up in the small northern Michigan town of Gaylord. She's a graduate of Grand Valley State University, with double majors in Broadcasting and Journalism. Prior to joining the WZZM news team, she worked for 6 years in the Flint/Tri City market for WNEM TV5 on the other side of the state. There, she woke up in the early hours of the morning, to anchor the morning show. She also spent a good amount of time reporting on the Flint Water Crisis.

In college, she also studied theater in London at Kingston University.

She loves Michigan, and calls it home. From wine tasting in Traverse City, hiking the Sleeping Bear Dunes, spending time in small cities in the Thumb, seeing a Tigers game in Detroit, and soaking up the sun along the Lake Michigan shoreline, she enjoys it all.

The way to her heart is a great cup of coffee. If you follow her on social media, you will see many pictures of her pride and joy, her dachshund named Leo.
