Charlie joined the 13 ON YOUR SIDE team in October of 2021 as a general assignment reporter. He looks forward to getting to know and taking advantage of all West Michigan has to offer!
Beginning in 2014, following his graduation, Charlie entered the field working as an anchor and feature reporter covering Northern Michigan with 9 & 10 News. After five years on the desk, he opted for a transition to NewsNet, a digital network start-up carried in dozens of communities across the US.
Following a year-long stint anchoring the network's Midday newscasts, life took him south to a position with ABC12 in Flint, where he covered a wide range of topics and news events, including the evolving COVID-19 pandemic, the Flint Water Crisis and 2020's Midland dam breach. The Associated Press recognized Charlie's work with a first-place finish in its 2020 Investigative Reporting category. He also anchored the station's weekend morning show (shout out to all of the early risers out there!).
Charlie graduated from Oakland University with a bachelor's degree in journalism. He enjoys spending time with family, DIY projects, good reads and spending time outdoors, where you'll find him canoeing any number of Michigan's rivers!
