Jaleesa Irizarry joined WZZM 13 in October 2016 as a multi-skilled journalist. She came to Grand Rapids from Madison, WI where she was a reporter covering crime, education, and politics.

Jaleesa was born and raised in New Britain, CT. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from Suffolk University in Boston, MA. After she graduated, she worked for the Boston Bruins and Celtics as a camera and instant replay operator. She also worked for CBS Boston as a newsroom apprentice.

Jaleesa started her on-air career in Rapid City, SD where she covered the blizzard of 2013 as well as a nationally recognized Senate race.

Jaleesa considers herself a die-hard Yankees fan and tries to catch a few games a year. During her free time she enjoys spending time with her pup, Benjamin and catching up on her favorite sports teams. She also loves trying new restaurants and breweries.
