Justin Joined the 13 ON YOUR SIDE team in May of 2021, after spending two year’s reporting in Central New York. The Cleveland, Ohio native is happy to be back in the Midwest.
Justin’s life has always been centered around telling stories. After being diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome at 13, Justin was disqualified from a cross country meet later that year for his disability. Not wanting others to experience the injustice he faced that day, he started a non-profit organization and began touring the country speaking to middle and high school students, sharing a message of self-confidence and empowerment that he calls “Living Loud”.
Shifting from telling his own story to the stories of others around him, Justin studied broadcast journalism at Syracuse University. He stayed in Syracuse doing the morning news for two years before making West Michigan home.
When he’s not on the clock he’s usually out exploring with his trusty Nikon (you can follow his photography on Instagram at @j.parkerphoto) or cooking something he hasn’t tried before. He’s always looking to get involved and meet people in the community, and if you have a story for Justin, send it his way through email, JustinBachman@13OnYourSide.com, or on Twitter, @JustinBachman3.
