From TV Lifestyle host to digital content producer, I like to keep myself busy.
I joined 13 On Your Side in March 2019 as a co-host on the show My West Michigan and The Exchange. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in the summer of 2020, My West Michigan went on hiatus and I transition to the 13OYS digital team.
I grew up in the small town of Niles, Michigan and as kid I always knew I loved TV and the entertainment industry. I remember growing up, watching Saturday Night Live and listening to the hosts read their monologues and I remember how much I wanted to be a writer and actor. Little did I know I could make a career in the TV industry by working for my local TV station.
After I graduated high school in 2014, I went on to pursue academic career at Michigan State University School of Journalism. In college, I was a features editor and reporter for The State News, MSU’s award-winning student newspaper. Through my work at The State News I landed a summer internship on Mackinac Island at the Mackinac Island Town Crier, an amazing experience I’m grateful for.
As a proud Michigander, it was a dream to live and report on the island. The best part of my job was delivering the newspapers on my bike and dropped them off at local businesses and residents around the island, old school style!
Throughout my college career I also took interest in acting and film. I was a part of the MSU Theatre2Film program where students created feature films and created a portfolio for IMDb. I was also a production assistant on the Netflix film, “Crowning Jules”.
I graduated from MSU’s J-School in May of 2018 and as I continued to grow in the world of journalism, I went on to start my career at MLive Media Group/The Grand Rapids Press in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan.
At MLive Media Group, I was a general assignment reporter covering breaking news, features, and local events. I was fortunate enough to dabble in social media videos and I started creating YouTube videos called, High End Homes, where I hosted and toured million-dollar homes in West Michigan.
Through creating social videos at MLive, I realized I wanted to pursue a career as a TV host, which led me to My West Michigan and The Exchange! However, creating digital content made it a perfect fit to join the 13OYS digital team as a producer.
I’m looking forward to staying in Grand Rapids and sharing news with West Michigan and you can contact me at email@example.com.
