Rated highly on local restaurant lists from TripAdvisor and Yelp, Salt & Pepper is bringing customers back because of their high standard of customer service and hospitality.

Owner Mike Karas says, "I always tell the staff that it takes a village to have a great restaurant. One person can't make a great restaurant so it takes a team. We've got a great team and I think it's the sum of all parts."

Hundreds of salt and pepper shakers line the trim along the walls.

"We opened with four nights of training nights so we served hundreds of people for free by invitation and we asked the one thing they do is help us start our collection of salt and pepper shakers so we had 150 sets by the end of the week," says Karas. "There's about 800 sets now. It's grown and there's sets from all over the world. Basically every salt and pepper shaker in here is from one of our guests."

Located between Holland and Zeeland, Salt & Pepper has been open since 2010 on Lakewood Blvd. They also strive to make an impact within these communities.

Salt & Pepper features an "adventurous" American pub menu -- including this tasty-looking house smoked Michigan pulled pork sandwich topped with mustard slaw and white cheddar cheese. An updated menu will come out April 17.
