Taste of My Town: The Rendezvous

The menu is huge, offering a wide variety of creative takes on traditional diner food. And next to all of those menu items are prices that won't break the bank.

One of the first businesses you'll see when you arrive in Coast Guard City is one of its best. The Rendezvous is on 7th Street, right after you cross the drawbridge, directly across from the Coast Guard ship that welcomes people to Grand Haven.

The menu is huge, offering a wide variety of creative takes on traditional diner food. And next to all of those menu items are prices that won't break the bank.

As far as owner Bill Peak knows, the Rendezvous is the only locally-operated restaurant in town that's open 24 hours per day, seven days a week. He says during peak tourist season, and especially during Coast Guard Festival, most of the restaurant is full even during the wee hours of the morning.

The restaurant serves a variety of people, young and old, and they all say strangers quickly become friends when you're at the Rendezvous.
