Happy birthday, Prince George!

The eldest child of Prince William and Kate Middleton turned 5 on Sunday, and, in honor of his special day, we're breaking down the royal's most adorable facial expressions.

From his too-cute-for-words smile to his signature pout, ET ranks the best faces the future king has made in royal portraits and public appearances over the years.

6. The shy but sweet

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcomed their third child, Prince Louis, in April, and, while George is usually the center of attention, he kept a low profile while making his way into the hospital with his younger sis, 3-year-old Princess Charlotte. We can only imagine that, as the oldest son in the family now, he's just setting the bar high for his siblings!

5. The "simply not feeling it"

But George was back in business earlier this month when Kensington Palace released the official photos from Louis' christening. Dad was all serious, mom was glowing and Charlotte was smiling. But Prince George? Not feeling it! It appears he wasn't too happy about posing for the family's Christmas card either.

4. The ultimate shade

School: So difficult, right? We feel you, Prince George! Although he's thrown a lot of shade in public over the years, we couldn't help ourselves from laughing over this epic pic a photographer captured on the mini royal's first day of school at Thomas's Battersea in London, England, on Sept. 7, 2017. This is one of many pictures that prompted writer Gary Janetti to start a hilarious, shady Instagram account on the royals that has since gone viral.

3. The regal smile

As seen in the pic to the left, George seemed to perk up later while posing with his dad on the first day of school. We saw that same sweet smile in last year's official portrait (snapped last year by Getty photographer Chris Jackson), and again on July 21, 2017, when he was checking out helicopter models in Hamburg, Germany. And let's not forget the photo of his beaming grin that was released on his 5th birthday. This sweet image was taken after George's younger brother, Prince Louis, was christened at Clarence House on July 9.

2. The pouty prince

Royal life can be soooo tough! The third in line to the throne was feeling a little fussy after a long plane ride last July, as documented in photos taken during his family's arrival in Berlin, Germany. It's an expression we've seen him make more times than we can count, but, needless to say, it never gets old!

1. The royal shush!

Topping off our list is a hilarious moment that occurred just recently during the Trooping the Colour Parade in June. While the rest of his family was honoring Queen Elizabeth II's birthday, the Duke of Cambridge's mini-me felt the need to distract his cousin, Savannah, the granddaughter of Princess Anne. It appears Savannah couldn't take any more of George's antics, epically covering his mouth and shushing him. Does it get any cuter than that?
