Enjoy October with Positively Muskegon

Andy O'Riley shares some of his top picks for October events in the Muskegon area.

October 13 - The Muskegon Lumberjacks Kick off the 2018-19 Season at the newly renovated LC Walker Arena! The USHL is the top tier developmental league for the NCAA and The NHL and the big names in the world of hockey are on the ice now in Muskegon. Twenty-five former Lumberjacks have been drafted by NHL teams so far. Tickets range from $10-$17 in advance and it’s an awesome night out in Downtown Muskegon

Also starting the weekend of the 13th - Free Hackley and Hume Home Tours for Muskegon County Residents. They are part of the Lakeshore Museum Center and they are fascinating to visit and see what it was like to live like a lumber baron way back when. Make some plans to visit al through the month of October on the weekends!

October 20 & 21 - The Penguin Project Presents Aladdin Jr. This is a collaboration between the Muskegon Civic theater and No More Sidelines. The special ability kids of No More Sidelines are paired with some help from actors from the Civic Theater to bring Aladdin to life at the Frauenthal. Last year they did Annie jr and brought the house down. It’s magnificent to see these kids flourish on stage and live out dreams that even the best of us can’t try..acting. Tickets are $10 and you can get them at the Frauenthal Website of box office.

November 3 – It’s the Behind the Mask Masquerade Ball for the Hope Project USA to help stop human trafficking. It’s a gala affair with a live Hollywood Red Carpet Welcome, delicious dinner from Ryke’s Catering, music, fun silent auctions, important information and a chance to help those who are victims of human sex trafficking. Tickets are $50 and you can visit HopeProjectUSA to help their cause or to get your tickets.
