It explores local business ideas like art, urban farms and micro breweries as well as big business ideas like wind turbines and hybrid electric auto. Exported From Michigan explores solving economic and environmental challenges through both reinvention and returning to our roots.

Jon Vander Pol, Writer, Producer, Director: Jon Vander Pol is a Grand Rapids, Michigan, native who has spent the last 20 years living in the southwest working as an independent artist and creative entrepreneur. Exported From Michigan is Jon's debut feature length film. Before getting into documentary film making, he co-founded Infamous Network with Jeff Daverman in 1996, working as an artist, screen printer and graphic designer. A love of art, travel and culture have him inspired to keep learning about the world through documentary film making.
