Great Lakes Surf Festival host 2nd annual event

You don't need an ocean to catch a wave.

MUSKEGON, Mich. — The Great Lakes Surf Festival is proving that you don't need to be on an ocean to catch a wave.

They are hosting their second annual surf festival on Saturday, Aug. 17 to utilize "one of Michigan's great natural resources, waves," they said in their press release.

"We have one of the most beautiful venue locations on the Great Lakes, in Pere Marquette Beach, and we encourage anyone interested in a fun and family friendly beach day to come out and join us," said Joe Bidawid, the event co-founder.

It will be at Pere Marquette Beach from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

People can enjoy events on the water such as surfing and kayaking, and utilize the beach by practicing yoga, art, listening to music, and camping.
