Heritage Theatre Group takes history to the stage in Grand Rapids

The first production will be on the Spectrum Theatre's Main Stage.

Heritage Theatre Group is celebrating its 28th season with a full slate of performances this summer. The group will be performing three different pieces from July 12 until August 18 at the Spectrum Theatre on campus at Grand Rapids Community College.

The first production will be on the Spectrum Theatre's Main Stage. The group will be performing Anton Checkov's The Cherry Orchard starting July 12 and going until July 21.

The following weekend, on July 26, Fool For Love by Sam Shepard opens on stage at the Spectrum Theatre Blackbox. The hopeless love story will be performed until August 4.

The final show of the season is Assassins. The musical features music by Stephen Sondheim and a book by John Weidman. It is haunting story about assassins, or would-be assassins of U.S. Presidents, that is expected to resonate with audiences in a unique way. That show will be performed August 9-18 on the Spectrum Theatre Main Stage.

All shows will be Thursday - Saturday at 8 p.m. and anyone going to watch can utilize street parking, or pay $3 to park in Grand Rapids Community College's Bostwick Avenue Parking Ramp a block west of the Spectrum Theatre.
