Seven-time River Bank Run winner lends support to local nonprofit

Men from Guiding Light's recovery program took on the River Bank Run Saturday morning.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — About 15 men from Guiding Light's recovery program ran Saturday as part of the Amway River Bank Run.

Greg Meyer, who previously won the run seven times, sent them a letter reminding them of the hard work they have put in to prepare for the race.

Their race registration fees were primarily paid for by donations, and the Guiding Light staff helped athletes to get in the gym to train.

The men who ran Saturday said it's a great way to take another step toward the life they want to live.

Some of the men ran in the 5K, and others took part in the 10K.
