Early screening of 'Love Gilda' at ArtPrize hub

The movie uses recently discovered audiotapes and home movies of Gilda Radner and interviews with her friends to look back at Radner's career.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The film "Love Gilda" hits theaters on Friday September 21, 2018, but Grand Rapids hosted two early screenings at the ArtPrize hub on Thursday evening.

The movie uses recently discovered audiotapes and home movies of Gilda Radner and interviews with her friends to look back at Radner's career. Some of her friends interviewed for the movie include Chevy Chase, Lorne Michaels, Laraine Newman, Paul Shaffer and Martin Short.

Money raised during the early screenings will go to support Gilda's Club Grand Rapids. "Love Gilda" premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in April.

"Love Gilda" will be shown at the Celebration Cinema, Woodland Mall location, at 3195 28th Street SE on Sunday September 30 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $15.

From Monday October 1 to Saturday October 6 there will be a daily showing as part of the Knickerbocker Film Series. The movie will be shown at the Knickerbocker Theatre at 7:30 p.m. each day. Tickets are $7.
