Breakaway Fest GR takes over Belknap Park for second year

The two-day festival will draw in crowds to Belknap Park with headliners like Khalid and Odesza.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The second year of Breakaway Festival Grand Rapids kicked off Friday afternoon.

The two-day electronic and hiphop fest will draw in crowds to Belknap Park with headliners like Odesza on Friday, and Khalid on Saturday. The lineup also features Borgeous, Flosstradamus, Kayzo, Dombresky, Grey, Maxo Kream, Tee Grizzley.

The nationwide fest is put on locally with the help of MiEntertainment, who hosts a number of Michigan festivals throughout the year.

Breakaway Fest GR is made possible with the help of local groups and businesses like Grand River Water Festival, The Oddest Supply Co., and a number of local shops and food trucks.

There were 17,000 tickets sold ahead of the festival, with another 3,000 to be sold at the door. One-day general admission tickets are $80.

If the main stage gets to be too much, up the hill there is a smaller stage where local DJs will face off in a silent disco from open until close.

Check the lineup here. Doors open at 2 p.m. Saturday.
