Willie Nelson and Alison Krauss to perform at Van Andel Arena in August

Nelson has released 68 studio albums and 10 live albums, and Krauss has won 27 Grammy awards.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Country music legend Willie Nelson and 27-time Grammy award winner Alison Krauss will be performing at Van Andel Arena August 9.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, April 19 at the DeVos Place and Van Andel Arena box offices, as well as ticketmaster.com.

Nelson has released 68 studio albums and 10 live albums. He signed with Atlantic Records in 1973 and was a pioneer of outlaw country, a stark contrast from the mainstream Nashville sound and clean-cut country artists of the era.

In the 1980s Nelson released No. 1 albums "Honeysuckle Rose," "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," "Always on My Mind" and "The Promiseland." He also joined Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and Kris Kristofferson in the supergroup The Highwaymen between 1985 and 1995.

Nelson continues to release a new album almost every year.

Krauss has helped keep bluegrass music alive in the U.S. Her 27 Grammy's are the most for any female artist in Grammy history. She has been performing since the early 1990s and her fans love to see her play the fiddle, piano and mandolin.
