Strong TV sales expected ahead of Super Bowl

The Super Bowl is so popular that a single retailer might sell five times the normal amount of TVs this Saturday alone.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — We are now just a few days away from the Super Bowl and as in past years, retail experts are predicting strong TV sales this weekend.

The Super Bowl is so popular that a single retailer might sell five times the normal amount of TVs this Saturday alone.

"We're gonna have all hands on deck, every one of my employees will be here," says Alan Wisnewski of Best Buy.

The buzzword you hear most often while shopping for a TV is 4K.

"It's four times the resolution of standard HD, your standard 1080p TV has 2.3 million pixels, 4K has 8.4," says Wisnewski.

You'll also want to know the difference between 60 and 120 hertz.

"When you're watching that 60 hertz panel and something is moving across that screen, you are going to get a little bit of a jutter or image lag and you go well it streaked a little bit, what was that? If you have that true 120 motion you'e going to get the most natural picture," says Wisnewski.

And always ask about price-matching.

"You bring us your price match, we'll look into it and see what exactly is entailed," says Wisnewski.
