Meghan Markle's father and half-sister spark backlash online

Thomas and Samantha Markle are continuing to create outrage on the internet with their outspoken comments on the royal family.

Over the weekend, estranged father of Meghan Markle, Thomas Markle, gave an almost 9-hour interview with The Daily Mail over the course of several days. In the interview he slammed his daughter for being out of touch with him, attempted to drag the name of the royal family and also took credit for all of Meghan's success, saying that "I made her the Duchess she is today." Critics have been quick top point out that while Meghan has apparently not been in touch with her father since the royal wedding, Thomas' angry rantings, can't be doing much help. He even went so far as to say he's worried he might die without speaking to her, "I could die tomorrow...Perhaps it would be easier for Meghan if I died. Everybody would be filled with sympathy for her. But I hope we reconcile. I'd hate to die without speaking to Meghan again."

The interview, which was widely circulated around the internet, even attracted celebrities to chime in on the royal drama. Chrissy Teigen, model and wife of award-winning singer John Legend, tweeted on Saturday,

Teigen, who has more than 10 million followers, was hit with one response she might never see (and probably didn't expect) from Meghan Markle's half-sister Samantha. Samantha Markle, who has also been a harsh critic of Meghan's apparent "distance" from her family, wrote to Chrissy on Twitter calling her a "pudgy airhead" who needs to "respect" Meghan and Samantha's father. Chrissy has not responded to the tweet, but this royal drama has clearly reached epic proportions. The royal family has yet to comment on any of the interviews Thomas Markle has conducted.

This weekend Meghan will be celebrating her 37th birthday, her first as a royal, but there has been no formal address or interview set up with the newly married royal couple. The pair are set to attend a wedding on August 4th for one of Prince Harry's childhood friends. Harry will be the best man at the wedding and Prince William and Kate Middleton are also attending.
