GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Whether you’re a long-time lover of crepes or indulging for the first time, bring your friends and neighbors to Brown Butter Creperie and Café.

Located in Eastown’s historic Windmill building at 1436 Wealthy Street, you’ll experience a taste of France with their gourmet sweet and savory crepes spun to perfection on steaming griddles. Or indulge in a gourmet Belgian waffle.

The creperie offers gluten-free crepes and also savory crepes for those looking for a salty treat. Their "classic" dish features ham, Swiss, grainy mustard and fresh chives. They have a wide range of crepes on their menu from salty to sweet.

Coming soon, the restaurant will have a bacon and cheese quiche and chicken and broccoli quiche.

Brown Butter Creperie and Café began in 2015 as a food truck and continues to serve their friends at farmer’s markets and special events around West Michigan. They would love to cater your next event – indoors or outdoors.

Not only does the sweet crepe shop feature a variety of fabulous dishes, Brown Butter Creperie and Cafe also offers crepe-making classes.

The class cost $55 and guests get the opportunity to build their own sweet crepes. During this hands-on class, their expert instructors will guide you step-by-step through the process of making their delicious crepe batter and spinning out crepes on the griddle.

Then, enjoy your freshly made, warm crepes with a variety of sweet fillings like Nutella, blueberry compote, fresh fruit, toasted pecans and moreYou’ll have the opportunity to make two different types of sweet batter – one plain and one flavored (think pumpkin, beer, chocolate, or gingerbread). This will certainly be a night to remember.

In the 90-minute class you’ll learn how quick and easy crepes are to make – and not to mention versatile. They'll demonstrate how to make crepe batter and the technique for spinning them out and then it’s your turn.

You’ll be given a recipe and ingredients to create your own crepes during class. Expect to produce 8-10 crepes which you may fill and eat. Coffee and french sodas will be provided.

Classes are for all ages 12 and up and groups of two will work together and share a crepe griddle. You will be standing, working and cooking for most of the class so they advise their guest to wear comfortable shoes.

The classes are limited to eight people. Gluten-free batter is available upon request.
