Grand Rapids' largest annual food truck rally is happening this weekend

Roll'N Out Food Truck Fest is Saturday, May 18.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Food truck season is officially here!

The Grand Rapids Food Truck Association (GRFTA) -- supported by the City of Grand Rapids, Grand Rapids Food Truck Association (GRFTA), Grand Rapids Loves Food Trucks, Downtown Grand Rapids Inc. (DGRI), Heineken 0.0, Mobile GR, Prep Space and Van Eerden Food Service -- will host the 3nd annual Roll’N Out Food Truck Fest on Saturday, May 18 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Ionia Avenue and in Heartside Park.

Thirty food trucks and trailers will participate, making the event Grand Rapids’ largest food truck rally.

“We’ve moved the event to Saturday from Sunday this year to give it more of a weekend vibe,” explains Rock Dandeneau, GRFTA president and Pressed in Time owner, one of the area’s newest food trucks and former menu creator extraordinaire of the Blue Spoon food truck. “The timing for the event is perfect as trucks that operate seasonally will be just back on the road and all the new food trucks will be fully operational!”

In addition to the food trucks lining both sides of Ionia Avenue from just north of The Globe Apartments to Williams, and on Bartlett between Ionia and Commerce, the 3rd annual Roll’N Out Food Truck Fest will feature:

  • Picnic space in Heartside Park. Bring a blanket to enjoy food truck fare and music.
  • Register to win opportunities for food truck gift certificates each hour from 12 to 6 p.m.
  • Entertainment from the Heartside Park stage from Trilogy, Yellow Brick Road and Stereolithic
  • Family-friendly activities and games
