Grant me Hope: Kyler

Kyler would love to join your family's team.

Kyler loves sports. He likes to play them, watch them on TV and talk about them. He even wears them when he can and will point out his latest shoes or team jersey just to make sure you know he likes sports. He especially likes participating in basketball. When he’s asked the most important thing he wants others to know about him, Kyler says, “I’m good at basketball, and I’m a great kid.” His worker echoes that latter sentiment, saying Kyler is a pleasure to be around. In addition to basketball, Kyler likes all sorts of activities such as biking, bowling and swimming. He also enjoys playing cards and video games. With all of that activity, Kyler likely builds a healthy appetite, which he’ll gladly satisfy with his favorite food, pizza and burgers washed down with a root beer. His list of favorites includes blue and yellow for color and dogs for animal. Kyler’s favorite holidays are Fourth of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas, which he says he enjoys by “spending time with family. His worker describes Kyler as a bright, kind and outgoing boy who desperately wants a caring, loving family. Once he feels accepted in the family, he’ll want to do anything for his family to help out. He also looks forward to just spending time together.

Kyler wants to become a lumberjack, landscaper or shoe designer, and his personality seems to fit any of those career choices. “Kyler interacts well with others,” his worker says. In school, Kyler benefits from assistance to help him function at his best, and he says math is his favorite subject.

Kyler would do best with two parents who are experienced and trauma informed. Kyler would do best in a forever family in which he is the only child. His family should provide Kyler a structured home and be able to communicate clear expectations. In addition, Kyler’s new family must be strong advocates for the services that will benefit him. They also must be patient as he transitions into his new home.

Kyler has been waiting to officially join a family since 2015. You can learn more about him and how you can adopt him on MARE's website
